Complete 100% of the entries to get 100 points

Here are some ideas you may want to incorporate in your Medium blog:

6-minute Diary
Keep a daily 6-minute diary or daily journal, completing at least 10 entries. Analyze entires for clues that lead you toward your capstone topic. This is an exercise adapted from Lindsey Bell’s adaptation of Lynda Barry’s Syllabus, a short, visual excerpt of which you can read here (Links to an external site).

Watch Lynda explain the dairy here (Links to an external site.).

Every day take 2 minutes to write 7–10 things that you did, 2 minutes to record 7–10 things that you saw, 1 minute to recall and record something you overheard, and 1 minute to draw something you saw. Try to focus on moments that illuminate a potential capstone topic, but include anything that draws your attention.

Good Time Journal
Keep a journal over the next several weeks that tracks your daily activities. The primary objective is to research yourself to find clues as to what you should pursue as a capstone project. Hopefully, the exercise will help you answer questions like, what are you passionate about? What are your most relevant skills? Who do you enjoy interacting with and why? What do you enjoy thinking about and doing? What gets you up in the morning? These are some just some of the questions you may investigate.

Track your level of engagement which each activity (high to low). Flow means you lost track of time doing what you were doing because you were highly engaged in the process.

Record whether or not an activity increased (positive) or decreased (negative) your energy.

After a week or two, see which activities ranked highest (usually the times when you were you are “in flow”). These activities will give you clues to what you are passionate about and where you are skilled (yet still challenged). It’s in that combination (of passion and skill) that you may find direction for your capstone project.
